The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Black chalk and watercolour. The work is secured to the mount from the reverse of the sheet by three tabs of tape. There is some staining to the sheet, most visible from the reverse, from an acidic mount, from which we would advise removal and rehousing. On close examination, there is a soft diagonal crease to the upper right corner and one to the centre right extreme edge. There is some surface dirt to the sheet. On very close examination there are a few fine surface scratches and one tiny abrasion to the left of the tree towards the lower centre left edge. The sheet is slightly undulated at the left edge. Subject to the above, it is our opinion that the work appears to be in good overall condition.
