Lot Essay

From 1923-1933, Gio Ponti was the artistic director at the Richard-Ginori ceramic factory (presently known as Ginori 1735). The present model was displayed in the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts) in Paris where Gio Ponti won the Grand Prix in the ceramics category.
