Overall good condition commensurate with age and gentle use. The shades with an amber glow while illuminated. When unlit, the glass shades appear with a pale gold tone and iridescent overtones of light blue and fuchsia. The shades are well matched with one shade appearing with a slightly more raspberry pink hue along the upper quadrant. The glass presents in good condition with minor surface irregularities, scattered minor inclusions, and air bubbles inherent in the making. The glass with very light surface scratches and minor wear concentrated to the upper rim where the hardware rests, not visible when set in place. One shade with a very minor edge chip (approximately 1⁄8 in.) along the upper rim, also not visible when set in place.
The metal sconces with a reddish brown patina and green overtones. The metal surfaces with light scratches, minor abrasions, and scattered areas of light oxidation. One sconce with an oval area (approximately 1⁄2 x 1⁄4 in.) of wear to the patina and oxidation to the perimeter. The metal with scattered areas of minor white paint droplets. Each of the two light sconces with period porcelain sockets that appear to be original.
Please note that while the sconces appear to be in working condition, Christie’s does not guarantee the functionality of the electrical components.
