The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall very good condition with scattered scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. Each piece presents with light wear, scuff marks and scratches throughout, as to be expected from gentle use. Light crackling throughout nickel-plating, commensurate with normal aging of this material.
Box handles appear to have been resoldered at some point in the history of both pieces and are in stable condition. Corners present with areas of infilling, as to be expected due to age and normal wear. Lid fits snugly in the box and glides with light resistance in one box and very smoothly in the other.
Mirror handle presents with wear and losses of the nickel plate (largest is approximately 11⁄2 x 1⁄4 in.), as to be expected from normal use. Mirror plane with surface scratches, crackling, and small losses of the nickel-plating throughout, not visually distracting.
Horse hair bristles on brush presents with wear, as to be expected from normal use and gentle handling.
