The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall good condition commensurate with age and use. The shade presents with amber linenfold glass when unlit. When illuminated, the glass presents with vibrant yellow tones. The glass with light surface scratches, minor wear and dirt to recessed areas. Two tiles along the top border with restorations, stable. One glass tile along the lower border with a polished chip. The base with a russet brown patina with green undertones. The base plate with an applied brown wash. The metal surfaces with light scratches, wear to the patina, scattered areas of light oxidation as can be expected with aging of this material. The three-light cluster with replaced Bryant and Hubbel sockets with period shells and modern internal components. The wheel and heat cap appear to be original. The heat cap with very minor (less than 1⁄8 in.) chips to three glass tiles and slightly bent out of shape. The wheel with an uneven surface which subsequently makes the wheel and shade rest slightly uneven, but secure. Would benefit from professional reshaping of the wheel to support the shade.
Please note that although the lamp appears to be in working condition, Christie’s does not guarantee the functionality of the electrical components.
