Set of Two Chairs from the Rayward-Shepherd House, 'Tirranna', New Canaan, Connecticut, 1955-1964

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall good condition with a few light surface scratches and minor wear commensurate with age and use. The wood surfaces have been historically re-varnished and with minor nicks and abrasions concentrated to the edges with scattered historic restorations, areas of touch up and infill, and stabilization to joints as needed, only visible upon close inspection. One chair with very minor separation to the proper left backrest post and top brace, stable, and a minor 1¹⁄₂ in. loss along the bottom edge of the proper right leg with some adjacent minor lifting. The other chair with scattered residue along the underside of the seat, not visible when set in place. The replaced fabric upholstery in good condition with very light surface soiling and scattered minor areas of discoloration. Presents well and ready for display.
