A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall good condition. The piece presents with minor superficial soiling and wear, commensurate with age and use. The walnut surfaces present with scattered scratches, minor nicks and dents, particularly concentrated to the table top as to be expected from normal use. A protective varnish has been applied at some point in its history. One small loss to the bottom of the leg. The brass element presents with a minor bruise at the rim (approximately 21⁄2 in. wide) and minor tarnishing and oxidation marks, typical with aging of this material and not detracting to the overall appearance. The piece presents well, ready for display and use.
