The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall very good condition with superficial soiling and wear commensurate with age and use. The pieces present with minor stains, marks, scratches, nicks and rubbing areas to the straw marquetry, along with a few light lifting areas and very tiny losses. The straw marquetry surfaces have been previously cleaned and some minor veneer losses restored. Oxidizing, pitting and dents to the gilt brass elements, typical with aging of this material. The pair presents well, ready for display and use.
