Influenced by Old Norse ornamentation and traditional 18th to 19th century Swedish peasant textiles, Märta Måås-Fjetterström produced textiles such as this one with an archaic cross pattern with a modern flair and color scheme. An example of this model can be found in the permanent collection of the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, Sweden (inv. no. NMK 53/1967).

Overall very good condition commensurate with age and gentle use. With natural abrash, or variation to the dyes, inherent in the making. The wool with very light surface dirt as to be expected from normal use. A few scattered loose threads, not visually distracting. With a few scattered minor patch repairs, very well concealed and only visible upon close inspection. Presents well and ready to be displayed.
