In 1927, Pierre Chareau decorated the interior of the Grand Hotel de Tours, in which he used model 'LA 548' sconces throughout. On many walls, Chareau layered the 'LA 548' sconce with the related model 'LA415-LA317', resulting in a wall filled with a geometry of lights.

Overall good condition. The alabaster shades have likely been replaced at some point and present with light surface scratches. Presents with marks and rubbing where the shades glide into the metal mount to all shades, as to be expected. Alabaster shades with natural fissures to the material, some surface reaching, as to be expected with this material. Each alabaster shade with burn marks, as to be expected from normal use. One shade with a small chip (approximately 1⁄2 in.), not visually distracting when presented. With a light layer of dust and dirt commensurate with age. Patinated iron wall mounts with oxidation and corrosion, consistent with normal aging of this material. The metal surfaces present with different patinas and are a later pair, not visible when placed. Presents well, ready for use and display.
Please note that while the sconces appears to be in working condition, Christie’s does not guarantee the functionality of the electrical components.
