A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall very good condition with surface scratches and wear commensurate with age and use. The wooden surfaces with minor nicks and chips throughout. Armrests and braces along the underside of the seats have been historically stabilized with some minor adhesive residue visible only upon very close inspection. One chair with the proper right back leg with a 2 x 1 in. area that has been historically restored. The gilt bronze elements present with scratches, nicks and oxidation marks, typical with aging of this material. The updated upholstery with light soiling and very minor discoloration, not detracting to the overall appearance. Each chair lacking an original device to anchor the chair to the floor when seas were rough. Presents well and ready for display.
