The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall good condition commensurate with age and use. The harp and shade most likely originate from a desk lamp, now affixed to the present floor base, both elements appear to be original pieces by Tiffany. The glass presents with brilliant iridescence and rich emerald green tones while illuminated. The glass with very few minute inclusions and minute air bubbles inherent in the making and not visually detracting. The glass with a few faint surface scratches, very minor wear and light surface soiling concentrated to the recessed area. The chemicals of the iridescent glass have oxidized in some areas, only visible upon very close inspection. Two glass tiles with very minor cracks, stable. The base presents with a russet brown patina with green overtones. The metal with minor surface irregularities inherent in the making and not visually detracting. With very minor wear, light surface scratches and minor areas of oxidation typical with aging of this material. With very minor areas of wear to the patina. The mid point of the stem with a more pronounced scratch, approximately 1 in. long. With minor paint scuffs along the legs not visually detracting to the overall appearance of the piece. With a modern socket and pull chain. Presents well.
Please note that while the lamp appears to be in working condition, Christie’s does not guarantee the functionality of the electrical components.
