Ceiling Light, circa 1900

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall good condition commensurate with age and gentle use. The shade presents with rippled glass in amber and butterscotch tones. The glass with light surface scratches, minor dirt concentrated to recessed areas, and approximately five glass tiles with cracks. The metalwork presents with a deep black brown patina with green overtones. The metal surfaces with light scratches, minor wear to the patina, and scattered areas of light oxidation, typical with aging of this material. The metal with scattered areas of white paint droplets, concentrated to the interior of the ceiling light, not visible when set in place. The ceiling light has been updated to include a metal cap along the center of the shade and six metal ball caps along the outside of the shade where hanging shades were likely suspended.
