The work is structurally sound. The canvas appears to be stitched and there is a seam running horizontally across the lower half of the composition. There is an impact mark to the lower right corner with associated losses to the medium. There are minor paint losses to the lower left corner and lower horizontal edge. There is a linear abrasion with associated pinpoint paint loss to the upper horizontal edge. There are some further scattered pinpoint losses, minor accretions and handling marks. When examined under ultraviolet light, an area to the centre of the upper horizontal edge and some spots to the lower half of the composition fluoresce in a manner consistent with retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
