The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is some minor rubbing to the lower left corner. There are some minor cracks with associated pinpoint losses to the lower right corner. There are minor scattered hairline cracks, most visible in the darker passages in the lower half of the work. There are minor tension cracks and some superficial abrasions to the upper left vertical edge. There are two passages to the lower half where the paint has a more matte appearance. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
