The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is some minor rubbing to the upper left and lower right corners. There are minor tension cracks with associated pinpoint paint losses in places to the turnover edges, most visible to the upper and lower horizontal edges. There is a minor accretion and pinpoint paint loss to the centre of the lower extreme horizontal edge. There are some fine hairline cracks with associated pinpoint paint losses and some further minor paint losses to the centre of the composition. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
