The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The sheet is laid down on cardboard. There are fine creases to the upper left and lower corners. There are three further creases with associated undulation to the lower horizontal edge, presumably a result of the work being laid down onto cardboard. There is a minor bump with some associated skinning to the upper right extreme vertical edge, covered by the frame. There is a drip mark and a minor abrasion to the lower left and a minor bump and small tear to the lower right of the extreme horizontal edge, presumably related to the cutting of the underlying cardboard and covered by the frame. There are some minor cracks to the black passages of the thicker impasto in the lower half of the composition. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
