The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The sheet is hinged in places on the reverse to the window mount. The work is double sided, with the front presenting the main work by the artist, a portrait in acrylic on paper. The other side is a charcoal sketch of a female figure. The sheet undulates slightly and there creases and tears with associated losses to the paint and media along the vertical edges and to the figure, the largest two tears to the centre measuring approx. 37⁄8 in. in length. There are historic repairs to the reverse, where newspaper scraps have been used to reinforce the paper along the edges and in the upper right quadrant, this has caused tension and undulations to the paper. There are some minor scattered surface abrasions.
