Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The work is structurally sound. The board has warped slightly. There are two artist's pinholes to the upper horizontal edge. There are pinpoint paint losses to the extreme edges and some minor losses to the board, most visible in the lower right vertical edge. There are some further scattered pinpoint paint losses, linear abrasions and accretions. There is a faded signature to the lower right corner. When examined under ultraviolet light, there are small spots of retouching to the extreme edge and some further pinpoint scattered spots of retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
