The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. The canvas has been striplined and mounted on new stretcher bars. There are faint stretcher bar impressions to the upper and lower horizontal edges. The canvas is slightly slack. There is some minor rubbing with associated pinpoint paint loss to the upper right and lower left corners. There is some fraying to the upper right corner. There are small areas of surface abrasions with associated pinpoint paint losses to the circular composition and to the green passages in the lower left quadrant and the centre of the right vertical edge. There are some further scattered pinpoint paint losses. When examined under ultraviolet light, there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
