The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is minor deformation to the corners of the canvas. There is some minor fraying to the lower left corner and some minor rubbing to the upper left corner. There are some minor impressed impasto peaks with some associated pinpoint paint losses in places. There are scattered pinpoint accretions, predominantly to the white passages in the right half of the composition. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
