The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is some minor rubbing to the right vertical and lower horizontal extreme edges of the canvas. There are hairline cracks to the thicker impasto marking the hill tops in the centre of the composition. There is a minute flyspot to the upper left quadrant and to the centre of the right vertical edge. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
