The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is some minor rubbing to the corners. The painted surface has an uneven glossy appearance, presumably due to the varnish layer. There are some scattered fibrous accretions and pinpoint white media splashes to the thicker impasto. There are some minute paint losses to the blue passage along the upper and lower right vertical edge. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
