The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is some minor rubbing to the extreme edges. There are some very fine tension cracks to the vertical turnover edges. There are some handling and water marks to the white cloud near the upper horizontal edge. There is a minor linear abrasion to the upper left corner and a minute abrasion with associated pinpoint paint loss in the upper left quadrant. There are some pinpoint paint losses in places to the lower horizontal extreme edge. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
