The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- pale scattered foxing
- a 1-cm. tear at the upper right sheet edge, a 11-cm printing crease at the lower margin extending fractionally into the image, some soft handling creases mostly along the sheet edges
- a couple of pinpoint holes at the lower left margin
- a small paper defect in the upper margin
- remains of old paper hinges at the upper sheet edge and at the lower left corner
- with Paris Central Douane's stamp on the reverse
