The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to or in elaboration of the catalogue entry:
- with wide margins, possibly the full sheet, with a deckle edge at right
- with very pale light-staining, mainly visible at the sheet edges and at the lower margin
- a small, unobtrusive, pale stain at the right margin
- some soft, unobtrusive handling creases at the lower sheet edge
- very pale backboard staining, minor scuffing at the left sheet edges on the reverse
