Noir et blanc

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Gouache on card. Hinged to the mount at the reverse centre edges. Some frame abrasion with associated minor wear to the edges. A diagonal flattened fold at the lower-right corner. A soft crease at the upper-left corner and a few further handling marks elsewhere. One artist’s tack hole at the centre of the circle, inherent to the artist’s technique. A few thin lines of craquelure, mainly in the white pigments. Some light-staining with associated spots of foxing in places, mostly visible on the reverse. Minor surface dirt. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that this work appears to be in generally good condition.
