The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The late Margherite Duthuit confirmed the authenticity of this work in 1973 but the certificate is now lost.
Pencil on wove paper. Hinged to the mount at the reverse upper sheet corners with minor associated handling marks. Watermarked ‘P.M. FABRIANO’. The right and lower edges deckled. The left sheet edge slightly unevenly cut. Soft handling marks at the extreme lower corners and in a few places at the edges. A few pale unobtrusive foxmarks, mostly visible along the right margin. The reverse sheet edges with old mount remnants. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that this work appears to be in generally good condition.
