The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to or in elaboration of the catalogue entry:
- the full sheet, with a deckle edge at right
- the colours slightly attenuated
- the sheet laid down (to the edges?) to an adhesive support on the mount
- remains of adhesive paper stripes along the margins, due to the mounting, with associated soft skinning in places
- pale light and mount staining, minor soiling in places
