The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to or in elaboration of the catalogue entry:
- the full sheet
- minor surface soiling in places, a few pale pinpoint foxmarks, minor mount staining at the sheet edges
- a soft flattened fold at the upper left corner (approx. 5 cm.), a few soft and unobtrusive creases along the sheet edges in places, occasional very soft and unobtrusive skinning
- hinged to the mount at the upper sheet edge on the reverse
