Two Prints by the Artist

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description,

Street at Saverne: etching, on laid paper, 1858, the third state (of four), with margins, soft creasing in places (primarily in the margins), minor surface soiling, hinge remains on the reverse upper sheet edges, an area of surface soiling on the reverse lower sheet

The Pool: etching, on Japon paper, 1859, the fifth state of six, with full margins, occasional creasing primarily in the margins (the longest a diagonal crease measuring approximately 7¹⁄₂-in. extending through the lower left image corner), minor thin areas in the lower image with two associated pinpoint holes, a pinpoint hole in the lower left margin, adhesive remains at the reverse upper sheet edge (slightly showing through), hinge remains in places at the upper sheet edge (not showing through)
