Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good order and appearance, structurally sound and ready to use. With typical minor scattered nicks, chips, knocks, surface scratches and tiny losses throughout, mostly to edges and to legs, commensurate with age and use. A small piece of molding detached but present. Each of the leaves with various patches and small repairs primarily visible to the surface of the undersides of each leaf, particularly around the hardware, which evidently has been repositioned, and some which has probably been replaced. The leaves all lack a molded border, suggesting they were possibly cut down. With some old London shipping label stickers to underside of leaves. Signs of repairs and replacements to inner sub-frame of central section. The inner sides of the leaves incised with Roman numerals indicating the order they should be assembled.
