The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There are a few hairline barely visible cracks to the lower left quadrant . There are two minor accretions: one to the upper left corner and one to the lower right corner. There is minor loss to the lower left and upper right corner. There is a fine line of horizontal rubbing above the lower text. There is a pinpoint dent with associated minute paint loss towards the lower right corner. When examined under ultraviolet light, there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
