Each cover corresponds to a sutra, identified by the inscriptions in Manchu, Mongolian, Tibetan and Chinese, with two belonging to the Surangama Sutra, one corresponding to the second volume of the Madhyama Agama, and the last to the Mahasamnipata Sutra.
