The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Pencil and watercolour on paper. Examined out of the frame. The sheet is presented in a window mount and is hinged to a supporting board in two places along the upper reverse sheet edge. The supporting board is acidic and from which we would advise removal. There is some faint mount staining to the sheet, and an area of faint discolouration in the lower right corner of the sheet, not visible when framed. The right vertical and lower extreme edges are slightly uneven, consistent with the artist’s working method. On close inspection, there are two very small creases in the upper left corner, and a very faint crease in the lower right quadrant, barely visible unless viewed in raking light. Subject to the above, this work appears to be in very good overall condition.
