Close-up view of a scale model of the Scientific Instrument Model (SIM) to be flown for the first time on the Apollo 15 mission. Mounted in a hitherto vacant sector of the Apollo service module, the SIM carries specialised cameras and instrumentation for gathering lunar orbit scientific data.
