Lot Essay

[1] This photograph shows Gemini VII and its golden adapter section from the spacecraft. The main objective of this mission was to study the long-term effects of a long duration space flight on the crew.

[2] The photographs were 50 and 150 feet apart when these photographs were taken. Below Gemini VII, dawn in space touches the Earth near the west coast of India, a scene repeated every 96 minutes throughout the rendezvous.

[3] Gemini VI/VII rendezvous – The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Gemini VII spacecraft as seen from the Gemini VI spacecraft during their rendezvous mission in space. The two spacecrafts are approximately 122 feet apart. Taken with a modified 70mm Hasselblad camera, using Eastman Kodak, Ektachrome MS (S.O.217) colour film.
