The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Generally in good condition with signs commensurate with age, noting scratches and minor indentations. When viewed in raking light there is a slight mottling to the surface and fingerprints visible. Signs of being leant on with the transference of a pattern on the lower margin. The card it is mounted on has pencil marks under the photograph and red marks on the borders, although the latter is likely not to be visible once framed. There is a dark fingerprint on the bottom margin of the card and it is slightly bumped although this would not be seen once framed. The verso is in very good condition with bumped margins and creases in the card. There are areas of staining such as the bottom right corner.
