The United States’ flag is unfurled on the Moon’s Ocean of Storms by an Apollo 12 crew member with the banner’s red, white and blue providing a sharp contrast with the drab hues of the Lunar surface. Apollo 12 was launched from KSC on November 14 and accomplished the nation’s second successful manned landing on the Moon.
