Lot Essay

Retracted adjustable work platforms within the Vehicle Assembly Building’s High Bay 3 provide top-to-bottom view of the first two stages of the Apollo 12 Saturn V space vehicle, shortly after the second stage was stacked today. Topped by a third stage and the Apollo spacecraft, the 363-foot-high space vehicle is scheduled to launch Apollo 12 astronauts Charles Conrad, Richard Gordon and Alan Bean on the second manned lunar visit later this year.
