Lot Essay

While looking out from the Apollo 14’s Lunar Module, Antares, Ed Mitchell took photographs of the lunar surface. Apollo Lunar Surface Journal editor, Eric Jones, then created a mosaic from the photographs. It shows the view of Fra Mauro highlands, after the astronauts had completed their second walk on the Moon. The Modular Equipment Transporter can be seen in the foreground, as well as the sampling instrument and the American flag.
