Lot Essay

Mrs. Thatcher wore this hat for the ceremony when she was awarded the freedom of the City of Westminster, an event which is recorded in a painting by Ying Sang Yang of circa 1991. Mrs. Thatcher had the dress made for a wedding circa 1983.
