Third edition of a history of England, Scotland, and Ireland, from the library of Margaret Thatcher. Du Chesne enjoyed the patronage of Cardinal Richelieu and was historian and geographer to the King of France.

Folio (360 x 215mm). Title in red and black, engraved title vignette, numerous woodcut initials (holes in lower margin of last few quires just touching text). 20th-century half calf preserving 17th-century spine label (small scratch on lower board). Provenance: Librairie Raymond Clavreuil (bookseller’s label).
