Thatcher’s engagements on the day she resigned as Prime Minister, includinga mooted dinner at the Savoy Grill with Denis and other friends: the day begins with a hair appointment, readying her for an audience with the Queen to confirm her resignation, which is then announced in the Commons. She is then to leave for Dulwich, where time is set aside for unpacking before evening drinks with Sir Robin Butler and the Cabinet Office Secretariat, and the aforementioned dinner.


[And:] ephemera comprising: two menus, 10 Downing Street, 26 November 1990 and The Dorchester, 9 December 1990; and a two presentation slip folders, one containing a printed vote of thanks from the Margaret Thatcher Foundation to their benefactors and sponsors on the occasion of Lady Thatcher's 70th birthday.

This card marks a turning point in the history of British politics, showing the schedule of Mrs Thatcher's last day in power. As she is photographed leaving No. 10 Downing Street as Prime Minister for the last time and indeed during her final audience with Her Majesty, The Queen, this card would almost certainly have been in her famed handbag.
