The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This globe and stand are in generally good overall condition.
There is some slight discolouration/yellowing overall and there is some browning to the edges of the sheets to the globe as well as scattered spots of browning. There is also a spotted line running through the south Atlantic, close to the Falkland Islands and across the south pole, it is likely that this is a spill of liquid of some kind that has dried to giving the appearance of a dotted line, however, this is not conclusive and there is a small chance that it has been deliberately marked.
Some of the joints are a little loose and one joint between the wooden meridian/top of the base section and the leg has become detached, this could be relatively easily reglued without detriment to the object.
Overall minor marks, knocks, scratches and wear throughout, consistent with age and use to both the globe and stand.
Both elements in relatively good, used, condition. The frame is relatively firm and the globe moves relatively freely.
