The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

It is in our opinion that the work is in overall very good condition. The work is inspected within its frame, the reverse thus could not be checked. The canvas is taut and paint layer is fresh. Negligible thin hairline drying cracks to the upper left quadrant (on the white shirt) where the impasto is thickly applied. Brown abrasion marks to the extreme upper right corner, which is consistent with the artist's working method. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no sign of inpainting.
