Christie's is excited to present this Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513, the very first vintage Rolex owned by Shawn Yue, one of the most meaningful wristwatches to Shawn himself. It was this watch, a simple and classic vintage Submariner which inspires Shawn to start his unique journey on collecting top vintage Rolex. Ref. 5513, a very symbolic reference not just to the Submariner family but to all “vintage” Rolex. This is one of the very last references fitted with the acrylic crystals before Rolex “upgrades” all into sapphire csystal and which this is one of the most significant watershed between “vintage” and “modern” Rolex.
