Details
The brush pot is decorated in underglaze blue with three chicks perched on a gnarled, leafy branch by rocks, in the style of the artist Wang Bu, and with a two-character signature and sealmark to one side. The base has a six-character seal mark in underglaze blue reading yuanwen wuguo zhizhai that may be translated as "The Studio of Recognising my Mistakes".

The style and subject matter on this brush pot may be compared to two small blue and white vases painted in the style of Wang Bu sold at Christie's New York including one sold on 22-23 May 2018, lot 839, and another sold on 10 May 2011, lot 280.
