Lot Essay

The boy and bat to one side of the current plaque represent a wish for good fortune and allude to a wish for male descendants. The Chinese word for bat, fu, is a homophone for good luck and happiness. The stylised shou character to the reverse brings an additional wish for longevity to the owner.
