The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The margins of this manuscript have been slightly trimmed throughout. On some pages, notably the first three and the last, there are paper repairs in the margins. The margins also suffer from areas of staining, spotting and waterstaining. In the first three fifths of the mansucript this waterstaining most seriously affects the lower margin and there are spotted areas of moulding there. The illuminated headpieces throughout have minor stains and smudging generally not affecting the text. They are all applied to the original manuscript. There are small losses to the edges of the folio, particularly towards the bottom of the beginning part of the manuscript. In the last folio the rules of the text panel are cracked on th inner edge. The final folio also has a number of later owner's stamps some of which have been deliberatly smudged. The binding has a number of scratches and chips and the spine appears to have been replaced at some point.
